Rosemary Kempsell Awarded CBE
Mrs Rosemary Kempsell, Worldwide President of Mothers' Union from 2007-2012, has been made CBE in the New Year's Honours 2014 for services to families both in the UK and across the world.
"I'm surpised and delighted" said Rosemary today (1 Jan), "It is wonderful to see the way that the work of Mothers' Union is being recognised, and that is reflected in this award. Whilst we are building on the past, Mothers' Union is today an organisation that is forward looking. I've been so warmed by the messages of support from all over the world today."
Rosemary has been a member of Mothers' Union for over 35 years having joined as a young mum of two small children. Now a grandmother of twins, Rosemary continues to be an active member of Mothers' Union. As President of Mothers' Union Rosemary spearheaded a change in the leadership of Mothers' Union's central board by ensuring the global membership was reflected by the inclusion of members across the world, bringing to the organisation diversity and wide experience.
Last year CEO Reg Bailey was awarded CBE in the 2013 New Year's Honours list. These two significant awards in as many years represent the significant contribution that the 4 million members of Mothers' Union are making, across the world, to alleviate help those suffering with adversity, and to promote stable family life.
