HIV/AIDS - Living Positively
HIV/AIDS is at the forefront of all work undertaken by the Mothers' Union world wide. The MU is committed to raising awareness of HIV/AIDS and strives to abolish the stigma and discrimination that is associated with the virus.
All MU workers in every province and diocese work amongst their local community based groups to seek to engage in the moral, spiritual and medical issues that affect both family life and the spread of HIV/AIDS.
Living Positively, the resource pack created by the MU to be used specifically at the grassroots of society, in local communities to provide education, support and hope for all who are living with or affected by HIV/AIDS. |

Out of the Shadows
The Mothers Union has put together a violence pack with two aims - to raise awareness of violence and to help groups to share ideas, suggestions and to plan action to address violence.
The Violence Pack is designed to be used in as many different countries, and with as many different groups as possible. Every group of people is different and every community is different. |

The Right Change
Over 8000 women, men and girls can now read, write and count thanks to the Mothers' Union Literacy and Development Progamme in Burundi, Malawi and Sudan. Even small things like being able to count the right change, or get on the correct bus can make a huge difference to everyday life. It costs the MU just 20 to fund a person to take part in the programme, just 20 to change a persons life forever.
The video allows you to see the programmes in action in Burundi, Malawi and Sudan; hear the learners' own stories and share their joy as they recount their personal and family achievements. |
