Working in The Province of Canada
Much effort has been put in to the support and education of local clergy through the Caledonia School of Mutual Ministry. Members are involved in parental support through toddlers groups and fellowship, and support all kinds of community projects, such as refuges for women.
The Diocese of the Arctic covers four million square kilometres (a third of Canada). Counselling, hospital ministry and family studies provided by Mothers' Union are critical because there are high suicide rates among the Inuit, and increasing relationship breakdown. As the people number only 55,000, with Inuit living above the tree line and Indians living south, creating a better future for the children is vital for the Arctic's survival.
