How to Promote Mothers' Union

An important part of being a member is your role as an ambassador for Mothers’ Union in your everyday life. The more each member promotes the great work they do, the more support we will gain worldwide. With more support we are able to help more families and communities and increase the impact of all our hard work.

In every diocese there is a fundraising & communications coordinator (or marketing coordinator) whose job it is to help you promote Mothers’ Union in your local area. They are equipped with promotional resources from central Mothers' Union and if you need advertising support they should be your first point of contact as they have access to an online photo library and other resources to download. Please see the UK & Ireland map to locate your local Mothers’ Union or contact us for further support.

We provide resources to help every member promote Mothers’ Union and our fundraising appeals are another great way to spread the word. For diocesan and provincial level we have provided a Fundraising & Communications Toolkit which we are have also made available for you to download. This has  ideas and advice on the best ways to promote Mothers' Union in your local area, but is very detailed and designed to help trustees plan a strategic approach.  This will be parred down in early 2014 in order to provide practical and straight-forward ideas for local level promotion so please do keep revisiting this page.

Every month we prepare a ready-to-use article which you can download either in word, or in a ready to print format. This is a great resource for parish magazines or other community newsletters and can help you raise awareness of the activities of Mothers' Union.  Find out more >>

To help build up membership and interest in your area, you would also find our Help Us Grow resources useful. You can also download the Help Us Grow pack to find out some great ideas to get Mothers' Union flourishing in your area, or you can order a full printed pack, complete with two dvds, from

If you are a Mothers' Union fundraising & communications or marketing coordinator or a diocesan president you can find further resources in the Office Holders' section under Promotional Resources (you will need to enter your login details to access this section).
